Hello everyone, and welcome to our July challenge! This month, our challenge is a little different - It's a MASH-UP! You can find our challenge details below as well as links to the latest issue of our digital magazine - Artful Pages - more details below.
Mash-Up!
Let's take a look at this month's art journal challenge! We have simplified the challenges this year and the challenge no longer has two parts. Instead we have one main theme to inspire you and this month it's all about MASH-UP. Choose two or more themes from this year's challenges to inspire your pages. Here's a reminder of the January to June challenge themes:
January - Time
February - Love Letters
March - Home
April - Being Green
May - Celebrations
June - Art Supplies
Feel free to interpret the theme in any way that speaks to you!

ANN CHUANG
For this month I create an art journal page about art supplies, time,
and my sweet home. I will remember all the moments of my life with my
family.

For my mash-up page I chose to use the Time and Being Green
challenge themes to make my page. I used lots of scrap
papers, teabag sachets, and a negative piece from diecutting,
which would all have gone in the bin otherwise. For the time
elements I used some of the clocks from the free January
printable. I also used a photo of a much loved family pet
that we had when I was younger. I wish we could go back in
time and spend more time together, she was a great cat!

I used the April and June challenges - 'Being Green' and
'Art Supplies' - for my inspiration. I adore this quote and
thought it was perfect for the 'Being Green' topic. The
stunning kingfisher and the quote are both from ArtStacks
packs, my favourite 'Art Supplies'. Which two challenges will you combine?

HEIDI MATTESSICH
My journal page mashes up Being Green and Love Letters. The
focal point is an excerpt from the book Love Letters to Mother
Earth written by the late Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh. As we
are in nature all the time, we too are also nature. Being truly
mindful can help us realize this connection and cultivate our
love for the Earth. If we can care for and protect her as
fiercely as we do our loved ones, we can bring about healing for
ourselves and for the Earth.

For this challenge I mashed up the themes TIME and LOVE
LETTERS. My page has a vintage look because for me it is
associated with old letters. As a handwritten post card I used
a stamp. And the old clock is a thing connected with
time.

My 12 x 12 mixed media art journal page incorporates a MASH UP of
four of our MTW themes as follows: the color GREEN, a CELEBRATION of
owls, a quote about HOME, and my favorite ART SUPPLIES, which are
ArtStacks images! (The owl, the poppies, and the quote are all from
ArtStacks!)

SUNILA MAHAJAN
For this month, I literally followed the theme. I have created
a page inspired by the colour palette I used last month,
elements from another page I created earlier. I used my past 6
moth journal pages as inspiration and brought it all together on
this page.
