Welcome to the 2nd reveal of our June Main Challenge! This month we ask you to use the inspiration word HERO and to add PAINT to your project. We also have a special offer from one of our sponsors, so keep reading to find out what that is!
As always, our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge. The word inspiration can appear on your project or not but you must show that you have been inspired by it. The creative challenge must be used on your project!
Word Inspiration - HERO
Creative Challenge - PAINT
Helpful Tips For The Challenge
Not all heroes wear capes! Who is your HERO? Is it your father, a child or a friend? Maybe your hero is a sportsperson or an artist. Perhaps your hero really does appear in a comic book or on a screen. Whoever it is, we want to hear about it! For the creative challenge you need to add PAINT to your project. Any paint is fine!
And now let's look at our second DT Inspiration for this month:
Dana: I'm very fortunate to have descended from an amazing group of strong women. I'm celebrating the HEROINES on the Paternal side of my family on this art journal page. My Great Great Grandmother was born in Algeria and went on to give birth to two daughters in France. They eventually emigrated to the USA after my Great Great Grandmother was widowed. Who knows where I would be without their courage! I used watercolor PAINT to color the background of the page and gold spray paint on the chipboard globe.
Emma: 'This is the Way' - My newest HERO is The Mandalorian! The picture actually depicts 2 heroes to me, a silent one and a cute one. The PAINT element is all over my page using acrylics with a palette knife for the desired effect for this layout. The 2Crafty chipboard is also painted in delicious acrylics.
Heikes: For the June challenge I decided to make a layout with my HERO from childhood. Who hadn't dreamed in childhood of having the powers of a "super-HERO". I dreamed that I am very strong and brave without fear. My super hero was "Batman." I created my page from the "Young and Free" paper collection from 13@rts. I used for the creative PAINT challenge also 13@rts products, mostly Color Glow.
Sharon: I have always taught my daughters to believe in themselves. When I heard the Mariah Carey song "HERO"(released in 1993) I knew that I would sing it to my daughters (before they were even born) and tell them to always remember that "A HERO lies in you!" In making my page, I used acrylic PAINT in the background to enhance the beautiful patterned paper and show off this favorite photo of my daughters, Katie and Anne.
Aga: 'We are the HEROES of our times' - this is a sentence from a song by Mans Zelmerlow and it is very adequate for this pandemic, really difficult times. I used a rice paper from collection 'Young and Free' by 13 Arts (our sponsor) and I added some acrylic PAINTS using a spatula to prepare a really textured and colorful background. I also added some acrylic PAINT though a stencil and white embossed stamps - also from the 'Young and Free' collection.
Asia: The task of a HERO is to distinguish good from evil. What appears to be bad is not always an evil. I'm a huge fan of fantasy, so it wasn't difficult for me to find an idea for inspiration for this topic. Whoever has read or watched "The Witcher" probably understands the message of my project. From the HERO, light shines, dispersing dark thorns. I used PAINT to emphasize the black background and create the effect of a black fog that symbolizes the darkness.
Priya: The true hero is one who conquers his own anger and hatred. A true hero is not someone who thinks about doing what is right, but one that simply does what is right without thinking! In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. That kind of a person is my HERO and I dedicate my page to that person. I used teal, black and white PAINT with burgundy in the background and on the chippies.
Aude: My super HERO is a Spiderman cat. I used a lot of cogs. I used emerald green spray PAINT.
