Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with,
inspired by the ORIGINS & YOUR COUNTRY COLOURS main challenge!
Caroline: When I thought about the word ORIGINS, I thought about the origin of life. This picture of my pregnant belly, almost 7 years ago, was obviously representing my idea of the challenge. For the COUNTRY COLOURS I chose blue as it represents my Canadian province of Quebec.
Daisy: For this challenge I was inspired by a photo of one of my favorite Canadian ORIGINS bands, Billy Talent. Red and white are the COLOURS on the flag of my country, Canada.
Alicja: Creating my page, I was inspired by my Polish ORIGINS. I used a photo taken in the Polish city of Gdansk and I added COLOURS of my COUNTRY's flag - white and red.
Nicole: I am not the most patriotic person, but I do love the history of my ORIGINS, which is l'Acadie, a region of the Canadian Maritimes with French roots, language and culture. We celebrate Acadian Day on August 15th during which we have a traditional 'tintamarre' to demonstrate the vitality and solidarity of a people who survived persecution and deportation, and we proudly display our flag COLOURS of blue, white and red, based on the France flag, with a symbolic yellow star to represent Acadie.
Nuneka: The word ORIGINS makes me think of nature and little pollinators, the small creatures that create life every day. It also makes me think of green fields full of red poppies, very common in my COUNTRY Of Spain, during Spring.
France: This challenge made me want to get back in contact with my true place of ORIGIN, the province of New Brunswick in Canada. I was inspired by the COLOURS of the flag which has red, yellow, blue and a touch of black. I chose an old picture of myself and just had fun stamping my own background.
Daria: My ORIGIN is Russia. I decided to interpret this challenge using the COLOURS of my country's flag: white, blue and red. I will not say that it was a simple challenge, but I enjoyed creating this project in honour of where I come from.
Rosalie: My ORIGINS inspiration is based on the Australian long weekend after a tiresome working week. I have used the COLOURS of the Australian flag with hints of red on the grungy embellishments.
Hina: The word ORIGINS takes me back to my childhood and those streets where I grew up. I am reminded of all those outdoor games we played every day after school... the time that will never come back, but will be cherished forever. For the creative challenge, as clearly specified, I've used COLOURS of my country's flag, India.
Edith: For this layout, I was inspired by my Canadian ORIGINS and my Summer vacation at a very famous Canadian landmark, the CN Tower in Toronto. I used the COLOURS of the flag of Canada, red and white.
Anat: My ORIGINS are Brasil and Israel. I found this gorgeous picture and thought it was ideal for this project. We can say the Brasil COLOURS are green and yellow although there's also blue and white in the flag while Israel's are blue and white, and I tried to feature a bit of each on my page.
Mary: The word inspiration ORIGINS inspired me to create a page with a photo of my country Greece using COLOURS which represent our flag, white and blue. The photo shows one of our islands. I've also added flowers in pink which represent the flowers blooming in the Summer. I hope that I've given you a little taste of my country of Greece.
Priya: My ORIGINS is India, and I was inspired by the flags in the challenge board, so I used my country's flag as the focal element. India is so vibrant and colorful! I chose our national flag COLOURS in my layout: saffron, white and green. I also put the words that stand for these colours: strength, peace and growth, respectively. I chose to add the numbers 1947, the year India got its independence.
Di: I was inspired by the word ORIGINS and found these great pictures of old Australian postage stamps, one featuring the wattle which is our national flower and the other an Australian bird. For the creative challenge, I decided to use the whole green and gold combination as they are Australia's national COLOURS although not the colours of our flag. These are the colours that our athletes wear when competing internationally and for the Olympics.
Heather: My ORIGINS are Australian. In Australia we have a chant that's used at international sporting events. It goes "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!" It doesn't make a lot of sense but it's fun! I used the three "Aussie" words to describe the three of us in a foreign country. For my COUNTRY COLOURS I chose the red, white and blue of our flag. I added some stars to the page as these are on our flag too. I even found an Australian flag in a newspaper ad to use!
How exciting is it to see where all our DT members are from and
learn about their ORIGINS through their creativity and their beautiful
COUNTRY COLOURS that they chose to display for us!
We hope that they will have inspired you to play along.
