It's September already and time for another MAIN challenge over
at More Than Words, and this one we guarantee you will find very yummy!
Our MAIN challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Word Inspiraton - DELIGHT
Creative Challenge - RECIPE
What does the word DELIGHT inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired to create from it.
Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if not already obvious.
Are you good in the kitchen? Well, it doesn't matter because for our RECIPE creative challenge, the cooking will be done mainly in your scraproom or craft corner!
Please read carefully!!
On our board, you will find 2 options:
Option A is to scrap about your favorite family recipe.
You can use whatever products you want when doing so.
Option B is to follow our "Art Recipe" which is listed on the right.
If you decide on option B, you can scrap any theme you want (as long as you are inspired by the word, of course), but you must incorporate items from the list of ingredients provided. For example, you can choose to add a tag, a few pieces of flair, a button or two, and some mist. OR you can opt for a die cut, a badge, some flowers and lots of microbeads. No matter the combination you choose, we have to be able to taste our art recipe ingredients on your yummy creations!
So whether you share with us a special recipe as the theme of your project
or follow our own art recipe, or decide to combine both, we are looking
forward to see what you cook up!
VERY IMPORTANT! You have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge, the word inspiration AND the creative challenge, on your project to be eligible to win. Just look at our designers' creations as example.
Also, remember that you must include our board image and a link to our blog in your entry post.
Please check out our rules in the RULES tab above.
Nupur: "A recipe is believed to be a story that ends with a good delicious meal! I couldn't agree with it more. Delicious yummy vegan dessert it is... a pure DELIGHT! This month's RECIPE creative challenge has inspired me to document one of my all time favorite foods. I have also incorporated many ingredients from Option B as in a tag, buttons, mist... and I must say, it truly is a treat!"
Nicole: "I think it is very obvious this month how the word inspired me! My layout is an homage to my favorite Summer treat... delicious field berries that are a pure DELIGHT for me! I decided to go with Option B for the creative challenge and followed the art RECIPE by adding a tag, some flair, lots of flowers and some red and pink microbeads. I made sure to garnish with lots of creativity!"
Ekaterina: "This month I added the word on my page. I decided to scrapbook about my favorite cocktail - the Mojito! This refreshing and invigorating drink is such a DELIGHT on a hot Summer day! I used the art RECIPE and added a tag, a die cut, flowers, a dash of of mist and a pinch of beads as my ingredients."
Pamela: "You can see the DELIGHT in my granddaughter's face. It was her week with grandma for Summer vacation at the beach! For the creative challenge, I think I've covered all the ingredients from the art RECIPE, and then some!"
Lilibleu: "When Spring comes back every year, I always enjoy seeing flowers and their delicious colours. I chose to illustrate the subject with a bright pink tulip; this flower is a DELIGHT to my eyes. For the creative challenge, I went with the art RECIPE in Option B and used a tag, a badge, flowers and a dash of beads."
Di: "I was inspired by both the word DELIGHT and the RECIPE to scrap about my scone recipe. Let's face it, there is nothing so delightful as scones with jam and cream. Mmm... so yummy! For the creative challenge, I used both the recipe (Option A) which I have included on my layout as well as the art recipe (Option B)."
Rachael: "The first thing that came to mind when I thought of this month's word inspiration was my daughter. She can be such a DELIGHT to be around! I've gone with Option B in the RECIPE creative challenge, working in a tag, a flair,
some flowers and a dash of beads."
Joyce: "I took the creative challenge literally and designed an art journal entry with Grandma's Southern Potato Salad RECIPE. As a kid, I'd watch Grandma, mom, my aunts prepare the salad in the kitchen because I enjoyed eating it so much. Adding a written recipe in my art journal will remind me of the fun and DELIGHT at past family reunions with people who are no longer here to share the salad with us."
Valerie: "DELIGHTful as an apple! I love this time of year when I go out with my family to pick some apples. The art RECIPE I used: die cuts, flair, buttons
and a dash of mist."
Caroline: "It's a pure DELIGHT to me when I grab my kobo and spend a couple of minutes reading outside while the kids are playing. I cherish every one of those little moments. I chose to use the art RECIPE to make my layout. I used a tag, badges, flowers and I sprayed my cheesecloth with mist for the win!"
Helen: "My son's greatest DELIGHT and joy is playing at the sea! Nothing in the world makes him happier. I chose Option B and added these art RECIPE ingredients: a tag, a flair, paper flowers and some beads."
Wilma: "DELIGHT means for me nature, abstract and colour. I combined those things on this layout. For my creative challenge, I added ingredients from the art RECIPE, such as a tag, flair, flowers, mist and beads."
Valia: "My everyday DELIGHT is my coffee! I am addicted to it and I only drink coffee I make - I have the most specific recipe. I even carry my own Nespresso machine with me on holidays. For the creative part, I opted for art RECIPE, using a die-cut from rice paper, melange pebbles instead of flair buttons, watered mist for a watercolour look and lots of micro-beads."
Arantzazu: "For me, there is no greater DELIGHT that to savor a piece of chocolate! Any dessert which contain chocolate is my downfall. Yes, I'm addicted! haha! This photo clearly reflects what I mean. I followed the art RECIPE and added ingredients such as flowers, die cuts, microbeads and mist."
Heather: "I rarely take selfies, but I was having such a DELIGHTful time at an old fort on top of a mountain that I actually remembered to take one! I've used the art RECIPE for this layout with die cuts, flair, flowers and mist; it was so much fun!"
Elena: "My project is about the first day of school. Meeting with school friends, new experiences - it's always such a DELIGHT! That is the recipe of life - be brave, be enquiring, be good! I combined ingredients from the art RECIPE to my own - die cuts and mist with gesso, sprays, stamping and a lot of good mood!"
