It's time to reveal a brand new More Than Words challenge with you all!
Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration & a creative challenge.
This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Word Inspiration - MOMENT
Creative Challenge - CLOCKS
What does the word MOMENT inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you if not already obvious.
For this month's CLOCKS creative challenge, we ask that you use a clock or any part of a clock on your project. You can choose from dials, hands, cogs and gears, pocket chains, pendulums or all of the above.
OK! No time to waste! We'll be counting the hours until we see what you create!
VERY IMPORTANT! You have to incorporate both parts of the challenge, the word inspiration and the creative challenge, on your project to be eligible to win. When we vote, we specifically look for projects that display BOTH requirements, and not just the word or the creative challenge. Just look at our DT members' interpretation as example.
Remember that you must include our board image and a link
to our blog in your entry post.
Please check out our rules in the RULES tab above.
Nicole: "Some of my favorite MOMENTs are the ones I spend with my boyfriend of 10 years, Yves! We always have the most wonderful time, whether we are out and about on some adventure or just at home doing absolutely nothing together. My interpretation of the creative challenge is fairly obvious with over 30 CLOCK images on my project, from the many clock faces on my background paper to the chipboard stickers, brads, badges and metal trinket."
Rachael: "This MOMENT was just perfect for this challenge. As my chipboard title indicates, my page is all about a special "father & daughter moment": the beautiful photo was taken on Father's Day 2015. For the creative challenge, I have used numerous CLOCK images as well as hands/dials."
Valia: "There is beauty in time and there is time in beauty. And a MOMENT may even last forever... For the creative part of the challenge, I used
a chipboard CLOCK and an empty hourglass."
Di: "I was inspired by the CLOCK images especially teamed with the word MOMENT. It was just the perfect inspiration for me and all of which made this layout come together so easily. I definitely had the whole 'time' thing happening in my layout."
Valérie: "It's important to create good times with our children because time flies! My layout documents a very special MOMENT with my little Princess. To incorporate the creative challenge, I drew a CLOCK on the background."
Helen: "The second girl on the right is my mother, just having fun with her friends on their last day as school students in 1968. An unforgettable MOMENT for all of them! For the CLOCKS part of the challenge, I used some metal elements
from real clocks, gears and springs."
Julia: "This picture of me inspired me for the creation of this layout. It shows one MOMENT of my life - they are dark or light, but always bright! I added CLOCKs and gearwheels to accentuate the lifetime theme."
Elena: "I often look at the pictures of my children and realize that time is running so fast! All these special and happy moments are beautiful hours on the clock of my life. I used the word MOMENT in my title and some roman numerals inspired by CLOCKS."
Mona: "I used the word MOMENT in the sentiment 'Live in the moment'. The creative challenge inspired me to create a steampunk style canvas
featuring a variety of CLOCKS and cogs."
Heather: "Both the word and the creative challenge inspired me to create about a phase in my daughter's life when she was into dressing up into particular styles. It's a MOMENT in her life that has already passed and is unlikely to ever return. It was a fleeting phase and both the CLOCKS used and the word symbolize this."
Lilibleu: "I took this picture on Aix Island, a small island near the French coast, while my son was staring at the sea. When I saw the challenge with CLOCKS and the word MOMENT, I interpreted it two ways... first, by using a photo that would make me feel like time had stopped (Axel seems so lost in his thoughts), then with an overepresentation of clocks, some with hands, some without,
to reinforce the notion of frozen time."
Pamela: "Moments are a snapshot in time! Time is fleeting - it goes by too fast. This is the only photo of my father as a small child with his father. He passed when my dad was twelve. There are only ten photos of them together. Time is precious and every MOMENT should be cherished. I stencilled CLOCKS into the background as well as using hardware clocks to convey time passing so quickly."
Arantzazu: "When I saw this challenge, I thought about my childhood in those moments that have escaped me over time, but they are still alive within me! I used the word MOMENT in my title and used several CLOCKS on my page,
some stamped, some chipboard, some paper!"
Kareen: "Wherever you are on the planet during a trip, there are wonderful moments and others more 'ordinary'. My picture reflects that, an ordinary MOMENT in the plane between Quebec and Paris. For the CLOCKS creative challenge, I have decided to add different cogs and gears mixed in with my flower clusters."
We hope that you are inspired by all these beautiful creations from our DT!
